Raw 49 English
You might already know that English is a compulsory Top 4 subject and often one that can make or break your ATAR. As someone who is more STEM-oriented, this was certainly a major concern for me going into Year 12. However, over the course of the year I was able to overcome this challenge and manage to excel in what I would consider my most challenging VCE subject. If you are also someone who struggles with writing essays, learning texts or analysing articles, my goal is to make scoring highly in English as formulaic as possible, thereby giving you the confidence to perform at your very best. In fact, as I grew accustomed to the subject, English transformed from what I would consider a burden to one of my favourite subjects and I genuinely want my students to learn to appreciate the beauty that lies in reading and writing.

Raw 48 English
Alas, VCE English. I know how challenging this subject can feel – I used to think of English as my hardest subject – but over time, I developed strategies that not only helped me achieve a Raw 48 and near-perfect exam marks but also made me genuinely enjoy the process of reading and writing. My goal is to share these tips with you in a way that makes English feel less intimidating and more approachable, so you can build confidence, perform at your best, and maybe even start to love the subject too – blasphemy, I know.
